Compare and contrast
In both The Odyssey and Gilgamesh they are both mythological heroes both of them start out with imperfections so that the reader can connect to, and along the way become stronger as well a even more heroic therefore being transformed
Arch type
both stories share similar arch types along the way such as kalypso in Odyssey and Shamhat in Gilgamesh are temptresses and How Odyssyeus and Gilgamesh are heroes, how Athena helps Odysseus and how Gilamesh's mother helps him,
Relevant today?
This story is relevant up to date because people love to see someone not so perfect become something better, sort of like a hope for people that them themselves can also become better people, heroes in their own way. having to go through tough obstacles and triumphing. The main reason i believe that these stories are relevant today is because people love to put themselves in the feet if the hero and imagine themselves becoming better as well. People can just relate to these heroes and their difficult paths that one must go in order to get through life.

Aunt Jennifer's Tigers
Aunt Jennifer's Tigers to me seems like shes talking about her children or something shes looking after. To me the poem seems to relate that, what she is talking about is her children. How they are her shining diamonds in a new world. She speaks of motherly things she does , like how mother picked the splinter from their hand to the time they got married and how when she dies her "tiger" who were taught by her will go on living.

Burlap Sack
When I think of burlap I think of a sack of potatoes because to me burlap is a type of material in which the trees are wrapped in or what people use to carry such thing. The way it was used in the poem Burlap Sack I feel as if it were baggage, baggage like that of what a person carries with them their whole lives because of mistakes. When the writer wrote " Heavier if left out in the rain." means the more you let a problem linger the heavier it will get. Also when the writer writes"What would it be to take the bride and leave behind the heavy dowry?" to me means to take the bride but not any of the joys that should come with a wife, to leave what a wife brings with her. and the last line to I gives a feeling of finally letting go and being happy.

About me.
Hello my name is Fredy Torres and I am 21 years old. I came to NDNU on a quest to explore the vast lands of knowledge. I am from East Palo Alto and college is very close to me, I get to see my family frequently and am very happy to have chosen this school. I've come a long way not for myself, but because I owe it to those who have supported me throughout the years, also with an up and coming nephew who watches me from the sidelines. I am here to get the best grade I can possibly produce. It is my goal to keep the A that I start out with.
